5th Grade Update
It's Halloween week! 👻Today we reminded students to carry their costumes in their bags to school tomorrow if they'd like to wear one. We will change into them later in the afternoon, and they will need to be independent with their changing. Please no elaborate or gory make up or play weapons. We have some fun activities planned and a treat at the end of the day!🎃
Thank you to everyone for coming to conferences last week and for partnering in your students' learning. We also appreciate our camp chaperones--it was a great time at Camp Roger! See this Google Drive folder for pictures we've taken or received so far. Email us if you took a great photo on the field trip!🐾🍁
From Mrs. Gillies: Today I talked with students about problem solving at home when they're studying, etc. and have questions. While Covid learning times are over, and materials may not always be available online, they came up with great ideas, such as texting a friend, using online resources💻 such as tci.com for Social Studies lesson materials and review, and checking the digital planner (attached below.) The next best idea is to follow through and ask the teacher for help the next day. This might be the first year for some students with regard to finishing class work at home and studying for tests, but it is our hope to prepare them for increased requirements and to learn good work/study habits. We do remind them to bring their materials home each day. It is a learning curve for all! Thanks for supporting by checking in with your student and his/her planner. 📘
