Announcements 10/20

 Hi everyone,

Happy fall break! We have several things to share going into the long weekend. 

  • Mrs. Gillies' conferences are next week. Please double check your scheduled date and time. 
  • A friendly reminder that our weekly planner is available digitally. Students are still responsible for filling out their own planner, but feel free to use this document to ensure that everything is completed. Consider bookmarking that page or adding a shortcut to your Google Drive. 
  • The PTO is asking for donations, please see this sheet for information on how you can support the students and teachers at Central Woodlands. 
  • The big Camp Roger field trip is on Tuesday! A couple reminders:
    • Students need to dress for the weather. Layers are a good idea, but kids are responsible for keeping track of all of their stuff. 
    • Wear athletic shoes.
    • The bus leaves Central Woodlands at 9:00 sharp--be on time that day!
    • Kids will be asked to leave everything at school besides their lunch and a water bottle (no phones or other electronics are allowed on the bus). A disposable water bottle might be a good idea for this trip, just in case. 
    • Chaperones should have received an email from their child's teacher at this point. If you did not hear from us, please contact us asap. 
Remember, no school on Monday. Have a great long weekend!

Trail Map 8/24

 Hi Everyone, We had a great first week of school! We spent a lot of time this week getting to know your kids and learning about how we do things here at Central Woodlands. We're geared up for an amazing year of learning as Trailblazers! Read on for this week's announcements. Next week we will begin running our regular schedule and start the first unit of every subject. Here is our weekly schedule . This is subject to change (and likely will change!) as we figure out what works and what does not work.  Next week we will start sending home a daily planner, likely beginning on Tuesday or Wednesday. We're asking students to get parent signatures every night for the first quarter. If we feel it is no longer needed, we'll stop requiring signatures after that (you are, of course, welcome to continue this expectation with your own child). 5th Grade Update

 It's Halloween week! 👻Today we reminded students to carry their costumes in their bags to school tomorrow if they'd like to wear one. We will change into them later in the afternoon, and they will need to be independent with their changing. Please no elaborate or gory make up or play weapons. We have some fun activities planned and a treat at the end of the day!🎃 Thank you to everyone for coming to conferences last week and for partnering in your students' learning. We also appreciate our camp chaperones--it was a great time at Camp Roger! See this  Google Drive folder  for pictures we've taken or received so far.
