Trail Map 9/24
Hi everyone,
It was another great week for our Trailblazers! Read on for this week's announcements.
- We talked with the kids about the Camp Roger field trip on Friday afternoon. They should have brought home the permission slip along with several other handouts.
- I misspoke in the last blog update--we're able to take as many parent chaperones as we'd like on the field trip. Please fill out this Google Form to let us know that you plan to attend. Parents will need to drive themselves to Camp Roger. We'll send out more information as the trip approaches.
- All parents volunteers (including field trip chaperones) need to fill out a Volunteer Consent Form. Please email Wendy Ellis with questions wellis@fhps.net
- Please continue to sign your child's planner and encourage home/school responsibility.
- Both classes are working on improving our listening and following directions skills--many kids are really struggling! One quick example: well over 50% of Trailblazers forgot to get their mail from their mailbox at the end of the day despite repeated reminders before packing up. Yikes! Please talk to your child about the importance of hearing and following directions, especially if they don't have their Camp Roger permission slip with them.
- We're starting the next math unit this week. I (Mr. Beemer) will continue to give Homelink packets that cover the entire unit. Students should not work ahead.
- New homework policy starting this week: I will no longer check for completed homework on a daily basis. However, these packets must be completed and turned in at the end of the unit. Lost packets will be replaced but the student will need to redo the work up to the current lesson. Any student who does not turn in their packet at the end of the unit will need to stay in for recesses and work on it until it is complete.
- The vast majority of kids are able to complete their homework in class as long as they use their time wisely.
